The Beginner’s Guide

Clickthroughs – when you first login to pigsback, you will see a homepage with offers on it. Usually every Monday, Pigsback will update some of these offers and their grey borders will turn pink. Click on the ads with the pink borders and you will earn 10 Piggypoints! (approximately equal to 10p). Then you can go back to your homepage and repeat. Refreshing your page should bring up new offers. If you are unable to see any offers, go to ‘your offers’ or ‘more offers’ and see if you can find any more. Pink border clickthroughs are generally available for two weeks after they have been released.

To maximise the number of clickthroughs you can see on your homepage, you need to ensure all interest categories are updated. Click on ‘My Account’ (in the top right hand corner) and then ‘My Categories of Interest’. Make sure all categories are selected. New users to Pigsback can expect about 6 clickthroughs a week. Older users may find clickthroughs reduced to 1 or 2 a week.

Quizzes

There are a number of quizzes and competitions run daily and weekly on the pigsback site. All quizzes are multiple choice. For the quizzes, if you are unsure of the answer, it doesn’t matter – if you get the answer wrong, you can try again until you get the answer right.

Daily Trivia Quiz: There is a daily quiz which is featured on the right hand side of the homepage. Answer the question and click ‘submit’. One selected winner will win 1000 points every day.

Daily Crossword: 2000 points are up for grab every weekday for completing the crossword successfully. You should be able to access the crossword on the right hand side of your homepage.

Spotlight Quiz: This is a daily quiz. Click on the ‘Entertainment’ menu on your menubar and then click on ‘spotlight’ on the left hand side. A correct answer to the quiz will enter you into a daily draw to win 1000 points.

Ticketmaster Quiz: This is a daily quiz. Click on the ‘Entertainment’ menu on your menubar and then click on ‘Tickets’ on the left hand side. A correct answer to the quiz will enter you into a daily draw to win 1000 points.

Money Matters Quiz: This is a daily quiz. Click on the ‘Money Matter’ part of Pigsback. A correct answer to the quiz will enter you into a daily draw to win 1000 points.

Movie Club Quiz: This is a daily quiz. Click on the ‘Entertainment’ menu on your menubar and then click on ‘Movie Club’. A correct answer to the quiz will enter you into a daily draw to win 1000 points.

Toucan Quiz: This is a weekly quiz. Put ‘Toucan’ into the searchbox on your homepage and go through to the Toucan page. There is a quiz question about halfway down the page. A correct answer will immediately mean your account is creditted with 20 points.

Other ways of earning points

There are plenty of ways to earn more points. It is important to keep a look out for new promotions and offers as Pigsback will often have small sections of the site promoting a new advertiser which has small competitions for you to enter on top of the ones listed above.

There are a lot of third party offers on Pigsback where if you click through to the partner site and sign up for a newsletter or offer, you will be credited with points. It is useful to take screenshots of your offers and also make a note of each time you take an offer up as sometimes Pigsback’s system does not register your taking up of the offer and will need proof before they will credit your points. You can earn between 10 and 100 points for signing up for each offer.

Buying products through Pigsback will also earn you points. So before you buy anything online, check that they are not registered with Pigsback! If you want to buy something through a Pigsback affiliate, you MUST start at the Pigsback site. Sometimes, Pigsback offer extra points when you buy through a particular affiliate for the first time, as well as offering a particular amount of points per spend (eg 10 points per £1 spent).

You can also refer people to Pigsback – if they sign up using your referral code, you will receive 100 points as soon as they order their first reward. You can refer people by going to your homepage and then clicking ‘Tell a friend’ at the bottom of the right-hand side menu.

Points

If you want to see how many points you have accumulated, you can look at your homepage where it will show your current points balance. If you want to view your transactions, click on ‘My Account’ (top right hand corner of your homepage) and then on ‘View my Piggybank’.

Rewards

You will be unable to order any rewards until you have been a member for over 10 days. After this, click on ‘rewards’ at the top of your homepage and enter your password. From here, you can select from a variety of rewards – from small gifts such as piggy banks or stress piggies, to vouchers for Waitrose, CD WOW and Boots to name but a few.

When you order a reward for the first time, you will be asked to give a mobile number. Pigsback will send you a validation code which you enter into your account. This is to ensure that there is only one account per individual.

Some vouchers will be sent via email, some will be sent via post. It is important you check that the vouchers are how you expect them to be (for example you want a physical voucher if it’s going to be for a present!) and if you are ordering a postal voucher, check you have given Pigsback your correct address.
